Assessing the relationship between tenderness and polymorphisms in calpastatin gene (CAST) in two beef cattle breeds

The polymorphisms in the calpastatin gene (CAST) influence meat tenderness. The association between CAST gene polymorphisms identified by Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technique and meat tenderness of Brangus and Simmental breeds were analyzed in this study.
